Q: Would this microphone be a good fit for a multi host podcast? Each host having one of these mics?

These mics would work perfectly in a setting where each host has their own mic positioned within a foot of their mouth. You'd also need a mixer with an XLR input for each host and ideally a headphone output for each host. Something like a Rode Podcaster would be ideal. They're normally a bargain, but at Prime Day price these mics can't be beat.

Q: How well does the microphone pick up a talking level voice from a short distance, say 2 feet?

Dynamic mics are meant to be close to your mouth and limit some background noise. If you don’t want to worry about having to be up close, then you need a condenser mic. All mics sound best when you’re close, but condenser mics are a little more forgiving if you turn your head away, but they also pick up more background noise.

Q: I need something that is compatible with both a Mac and an iPhone/iPad. Will this work with either or both?

This is an old question but has yet to be answered completely so here goes. Yes, this microphone will work through USB with the macOS, Windows OS, most versions of Linux (that I know of), and will work with iOS (iPhone/iPad) devices that can use Apple's camera connection kit (30-pin or Lightning ports) as well as newer ones that use USB-C

Q: can 2 mics being connected to 1 computer via USB?

If you use a mixer you can. It's the only way I've been able to use two mics with a computer. There are relatively inexpensive mixers but you want to make sure you get the right cord for the mics. The thicker cord with the three prong connector. Also make sure the mixer can connect to your computer with USB. Not all of them do.
