OXO Good Grips Cocktail Shaker,Gray

I almost didn't purchase this item based on some of the reviews that talked about leaking, filling with water, etc. I am very glad that I did. The design and size are great. The lid has measuring marks and a built in strainer in the top. It has done a great job for me for a couple months and I think it will hold up well.Let me address the two biggest comments that almost prevented me from buying this:- "After only a month in the dishwasher, the inside filled up with water" If your going to be doing a lot of cooking in this shaker (said with sarcasm), then I understand the need to use the dishwasher. Considering this is a hand wash only item, follow the directions and wash by hand. After all, not much "dirty" items are going to be put in this.-"The seal is not tight and it leaks"This things doesn't leak a drop. Maybe, you didn't fully empty the lid (built in jigger) and dribbled liquid down the side. Maybe you didn't push firmly on the top jigger and then the lid to seal it to the body (total of 3 pieces, so 2 sealing points). In either case, this has provided me with an excellent, leak proof seal.For the price and overall function, this is great and I would buy again in a heartbeat!

I have read that the top is impossible to get off...no not at all to me , maybe theirs has a problem. Mine is easy as pie. I have read the top leaks some down your hand when you remove the top.. I don't find but a drop at most...not a problem in the least .I have read it does not get drinks cold enough. really?,,,i find no difference in metal tin coldness except on your hands. This is a really good shaker and i highly recommend it .

Works great, it's on the smaller side when it comes to cleaning by hand its difficult to get my hand to the narrow base of it. The lid/jigger doesn't always seal onto the strainer lid the best and will leak but its always minimal and might be user error. That being said if you're in need of a cold shaken drink this will do the job and well. If you dont want bigger flakes of ice in your drink get the Oxo good grip strainer. I've used them together and they are a efficient pair.

If you work in a bar you can violently smash the side of a cocktail shaker against the work surface to free it up and get inside to clean up after making a delicious beverage. At home (unless you live in a bar) you cannot really do this. Well you can but it is noisy and you might break your stuff or your landlords/parents stuff or your insignificant other halves stuff etc.Instead buy this with your own money. It fits together and comes apart without leaks or violence or much noise*.* When I say not much noise, not much noise from the Cocktail Shaker. You may make a lot of noise enjoying yourself at home. Other people may judge you for that. If they do ask them to pay for you to go to a bar and drink the same amount of Cocktails and a Taxi and maybe a lawyer etc.

So I've been mixing for years and hate the frozen fingers when jiggling a cocktail with an all metal shaker. I previously had another brand, plastic double-insulated shaker which lasted years. Yes, I like to shake drinks for a bit longer, so as to melt some of the ice into the drink (martini; Cosmo). However, on first use with this mixer, I noticed it lacked an "O" ring - and the inner seal was basically plastic on plastic.I now have about 2-3 weeks of experience with this Good Grips and overall it's not bad. Fingers and hand remain warm when jiggling with much ice. However, I have noticed leakage coming from the seal at times, when shaking vigorously and pouring. It's not major, but distracting, and can certainly drip some of the contents on your floor or kitchen counter. Any issues about hard-to-open tops and strainer are bogus. This was one of the easiest shakers to open after every mix. Just that the slight leakage (the unit does NOT have an O ring seal inside) takes away two stars for me. I wouldn't buy again only because of the occasional leakage, but am inclined to keep the product for now.

The lid stays on and comes off when I want. Have a metal one for years and did not like the way the lid stuck on and had to be banged on to release. This one works like a charm and is easy to keep clean.

I guess they named it that because it is rubber and super easy to use. One of my "hipster" friends saw me using it and was like, "You should really use an all metal shaker." And I was like, "Why, because The Arcade Fire made a song called 'Metal Shaker'"? It was a sick burn and he never really recovered from it. I saw him on his phone for about 30-45 mins afterward and then he came up to me an tried to act like he recalled from memory something about heat conduction, but I know he probably just read it from his phone. I called him my friend earlier, but really he's one of my wife's friend's boyfriends who gets dragged along to social events. I don't think he even likes being there. If he'd have come at me like, "Hey. I see you're using a rubberized shaker, let's talk more about that it s constructive way.," I probably wouldn't have hit him with such a sick burn. I decided to resolve it by making two drinks and having him do a blind taste test. Guess what, though? I totally pulled a the movie "The Princess's Bride" on him and made both drinks in the same shaker (this one). He couldn't let it go so he kept on telling me how much colder drink A was and how he could taste the individual notes of the spirits more clearly. Then I kind of started to feel bad for him because if this is his whole gimmick, feeling superior to people by hitting them with "factchecks" from The Arcade Fire, I didn't want to make him feel any worse about himself. So I just lied and said he guessed right.

Tinha uma outra coqueteleira da mesma marca em inox, mas modelo diferente. Comprei esse para a praia, por ser de plástico, mas por ser de fácil limpeza e por possuir dosador na tampa, já me facilitou para outras bebidas. Virou minha coqueteleira oficial.

Excelente compra. Estaba entre uno más moderno o este pero Oxo es garantía. Se puede agitar con una mano sin detener la tapa y se destapa muy fácil. La tapa medidora excelente.

This product is light weight and is easy to handle (actually to shake). It's smaller than I thought but it is still very useful. Also it is easy to clean and disassemble. I haven't seen it in any retail store so buying online was perfect.

Sieht schön aus - und das wäre dann auch schon der einzige positive Punkt. Denn eine Grundvoraussetzung für einen Shaker ist, dass er beim Schütteln dicht ist. Das ist bei diesem leider nicht der Fall, egal wie sehr man es auch versucht. Schade, eigentlich hatten wir mit anderen Produkten des Herstellers bisher nur gute Erfahrungen.

We have owned a number of these and we love them. They do not freeze your hands as you use them. Why do we own multiples?... home, Boat, caravan, and a spare... because we love them!
